The Easter break gives families around two weeks in spring, when temperatures in Makkah and Madinah are usually comfortable. Because Easter dates move each year and sometimes sit close to Ramadan, it helps to share your school's exact term dates early so we can compare options either side of the busiest days.
The long summer break offers the most flexibility for a 10, 12 or 14-night itinerary, but it is also the hottest time of year in Saudi Arabia. Many families prefer hotels with a short walk to the Haram, plan worship for the cooler early-morning and evening hours, and add private transfers to keep travel days easy for children and elderly relatives.
October half-term is short, so a 7-night trip often works best. Flights from regional airports such as Manchester and Birmingham can be compared with London to find practical timings. Half-term dates vary by local authority and between England, Wales and Scotland, so tell us yours.
